Former Heads guitarist Jerry Harrison and Adrian Belew are touring with a large backing band

We apologize, but this video has failed to load.“I knew there would be people who saw the shows we did in the 1980s who would come out to see me and Jerry, but I hadn’t expected all the young people filling the rooms,” said Belew. “What was intended to be something smaller and short keeps getting bigger and bigger. Now we are getting invitations to play Europe, Japan and South America. This is not the passing thing I initially expected.

“During that time, Turquaz went through something internal that saw members depart, which Jerry and I didn’t know about,” said Belew. “Plus, I really thought that the danceable sound with a very artistic bent that we were doing in 1980 is what the world needs now.” “We started off playing about an hour-long show, because we were mostly doing festival sets,” said Belew. “As we expanded to do longer shows, the idea to drop in some of our own material came up and I’m glad we went that way. I always felt that Thela Hun Ginjeet would suit a King Crimson-meets-Talking Heads setting, and now it is getting it.”
