Bryson Washington ran for three first-half scores and recorded a tackle for a safety, sending No. 1 state-ranked Franklin to a 53-18 win over Hitchcock in a Region III-3A Division I semifinal Friday at Woodforest Bank Stadium.Franklin took an 8-0 lead just 48 seconds into the game on Washington’s 56-yard touchdown sprint and conversion run.

Franklin’s final touchdown came on a pass of 26 yards from Walker Anderson to Dean Rampy with 1:23 left.Kyle Prazak’s 6-yard interception return for a touchdown with 1:47 left in the game lifted Cypress Christian to a 36-32 win over San Antonio Holy Cross Friday night in a Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools Division III state semifinal game at Buffalo Stadium in Giddings.

Preston Hamrick’s 9-yard interception return gave Cypress Christian possession at the Holy Cross 34-yard line with 5:18 left, but the Warriors couldn’t produce any points. Cypress Christian then widened its lead to 21-13 when Landrum connected with Prazak on a 65-yard touchdown pass with 1:53 left in the half.
