Adèle Haenel, a two-time César Award–winning actor, has accused French filmmaker Christophe Ruggia of sexual misconduct
accused Michael Jackson of sexually abusing them for years when they were children. She also said she wanted to come forward because of reports that Ruggia is allegedly preparing a film starring two protagonists that will have the same names as the characters played by Haenel and hercostar.
Her allegations arrive nearly two years after numerous French women in entertainment rejected the #MeToo movement, with actors likeclaiming the movement was initially necessary, but has gone on to take “on a hatred of men and of sexuality.”The Kid from Chaaba,Ruggia said he and Haenel had “a professional and affectionate” working relationship that was in no way untoward.
