In a Friday press conference, which was attended by Reps. Clay Higgins , Michael Cloud , Bob Good , Andy Biggs , Chip Roy , Ralph Norman , and Lauren Boebert and led by caucus Chairman Scott Perry , the group presented its proposal for handling the debt limit, which it described as an attempt to"shrink Washington and grow America.” After their proposal pitch, Perry took questions from reporters.
“Speaker McCarthy is not going to cut a deal with Democrats,” Perry said between laughs, which were joined by other caucus members.Perry stressed that he didn't believe McCarthy would reject the caucus's proposals, as it was based on"things that Republicans ran on in their primaries and general elections."
