French telecommunications operator Iliad SA (ILD.FR) said Monday that it has picked equipment from Finland's Nokia Corp. (NOKIA.HE) for the deployment of its 5G network in France and Italy. "By retaining Nokia, the group chooses European technology and strategic independence," the company said. The decision comes amid U.S.-led scrutiny of Chinese rival Huawei Technologies Co., which is essentially barred from the U.S.
