The event in question, multilingual singer Allison Adams Tucker's 15th annual Women in Jazz concert, is a showcase for some of the area's most gifted musicians. This year's edition will team Tucker with pianist Melonie Grinnell, bassist Evona Wascinski, drummer Joannah Sy, percussionist Monette Marino and Los Angeles trumpeter Tatiana Tate.
com Since rising to prominence 12 years ago as the lead singer and rhythm guitarist in the band Alabama Shakes, Brittany Howard has come into her own as a solo artist. Her newest album, “What Now,” is her most accomplished to date. Its intoxicating blend of sinewy R&B, skittering rock and heady psychedelia should be enhanced on an outdoor concert stage under the stars.
