Three pedestrians struck, one critically hurt near Sox Park

Eight people were injured Tuesday evening, four of them in an apparent hit-and-run traffic accident near Guaranteed Rate Field on the South Side before a White Sox game, authorities said. Four victims were injured just after 6:20 p.m. in the 300 block of West 35th Street, according to Chicago police. A department spokesman said police were still at the scene gathering details, but Chicago fire officials called the incident a hit and run in a tweet.Media update. Hit and run near Sox Park. Some time later, a silver sedan that appeared to have front end damage was stopped on the Dan Ryan Expressway in the 4500 blockFire officials said one of the four victims struck on 35th Street clung to the sedan until it was stopped by an ambulance. That victim was taken from the scene in critical condition, while four people inside the vehicle were taken to hospitals in fair-to-serious condition, authorities said.
