It follows searches on Friday and Saturday during a pre-planned operation in the Lower Newtownards Road area.
Four men have been charged following a pre-planned operation against the East Belfast UVF in the Lower Newtownards Road area.
Police officers and colleagues from the Paramilitary Crime Task Force carried out four searches of a number of residential properties and one business premises in the area.The four men - aged 34, 47, 49 and 51 - were arrested at the scene and taken to Musgrave Police Station for questioning. He also confirmed that eight firearms described as pistols, a large quantity of ammunition and three pipe bombs were seized along with two vehicles, balaclavas and UVF emblems and flags during the searches on Friday evening and into the early hours of Saturday.
