The Fort Bend County District Attorney’s Office and local law enforcement are implementing a “No Refusal” weekend for the New Year’s holiday to increase patrols looking for drivers who are impaired by alcohol or other substances.Fort Bend County law enforcement agencies are warning motorists not to drive intoxicated during the New Year’s holiday weekend.
Additional law enforcement officers will be on patrol overnight, especially at locations such as bars and venues hosting parties, the statement said. The Texas Court of Criminal Appeals has upheld blood search warrants as legal to obtain evidence in DWI cases. Nurses will be on hand to draw blood once a warrant is obtained.
