Arsenal need to win Premier League title ‘for the good of football’, talkSPORT told AFC

Danny Murphy may have played for Tottenham, but he has admitted he wants arch rivals Arsenal to win the Premier League this season.in pole position to win the title for the first time since 2004, he admits he is hoping they go all the way ‘for the good of football’.And ex-Spurs man Murphy is, begrudgingly, hoping they go all the way

The Premier League title has been passed around six teams in the last twenty years, with Manchester United taking six, Man City claiming six, Chelsea winning five and Liverpool, Leicester and Arsenal winning one each. And with Mikel Arteta’s side having the chance to go eight points clear at the top with a win against Man United this weekend, the Gunners are on track to be crowned champions for the first time since 2003/04.And Murphy is clearly keen to see someone break Man City’s recent monopoly, despite his Spurs links.

Although, given his strong ties to beloved club Liverpool – City’s biggest rivals for the title in recent years – that’s perhaps not a huge surprise. “Let me get something really straight here, and I’ll say it again because I’ve said it before,” the talkSPORT co-host began on Friday’s“Even though I’ve got a Tottenham connection and got good connections at Tottenham, for the good of football I hope Arsenal win it, I’ll say that now.
