Ohio authorities say a former Stark County attorney who admitted to stealing from his elderly clients will spend multiple years behind bars.

STARK COUNTY , Ohio -

According to the Ohio Attorney General’s Office, William Sparks carried out the thefts using his business American Realty Title Assurance Company of Stark County. The 71-year-old man from Jackson Township, in addition to spending four to six years in prison, is also on the hook to pay out nearly $340,000 in restitution, according to the attorney general.

The investigation was a joint effort between the attorney general’s office and the Stark County Sheriff’s Office. “Robbing elderly clients behind their backs is a disgraceful betrayal of trust that warrants stiff consequences. This sentence should serve as a warning that targeting older Ohioans for exploitation won’t be tolerated.”Summit County woman arrested after trying to run from deputiesShooting at a City of Cleveland maintenance facility in city’s Central neighborhood
