Disgraced former Congressman Anthony Weiner left a halfway house in the Bronx this morning, bringing his sentence for exchanging lewd text messages with an underage girl to a conclusion.
Weiner will be required to check in with his probation officer and register as a sex offender. He pleaded guilty in May 2017 to sending the obscene messages to a 15-year-old girl in North Carolina, and was sentenced in September 2017 to 21 months in prison. Weiner spent time at Federal Medical Center-Devens in Massachusetts before he was transferred to the halfway house in February to serve the remaining time of his sentence. He had three months shaved off due to good behavior, but will remain on probation.
