Ohio State’s gameplan on Saturday is, for the most part, cut and dry. The only drama appears to be which starters will play, and for how long, when the game inevitably gets out of reach.
On the one hand, getting the starting quarterback some much-needed reps before the Notre Dame game on Sept. 23, followed by Big Ten play in October, is needed. So is getting more time with the starting offensive line.
Could Ohio State follow the same model as the Bulldogs and Fighting Irish? Or could they elect for a, frankly, less merciful game like Oregon vs Portland State? That ended with an 81-7 final score.
