There are close to 14,000 Arizona children in foster care, and only about 3,000 licensed foster families, but one family is stepping up to help not only a girl, but her brother as well.

May is National Foster Care Month, and currently, there are close to 14,000 Arizona children in foster care, and only about 3,000 licensed foster families.

Patty, 10, feels safe with her dad Jeff Gaskill, who she calls Scooby, and mom Jeanie Gaskill, who she calls Mamacita or Jeania. "Just imagine any kid you know, how they would feel if they were suddenly separated from their family," Jeanie said. "That’s exactly how every kid feels.""I wanted to be foster parents because I always kind of did," Jeanie said. "I wanted to be a foster parent and adoptive parent."
