Former Chicago Bears defensive end Israel Idonije on June 16 sold his three-bedroom, 2,300-square-foot condominium on the seventh floor of a 14-story loft building in the South Loop for $664,000.

Born in Nigeria and raised in Manitoba, Idonije, 42, played for the Bears from 2003 until 2012. After his playing career ended, he settled in Chicago, working as an entrepreneur and running a foundation. One of his current projects, Athlitacomics, marries the areas of comics and sports in producing comic content and related merchandise. He’s also the part-owner of the Chicago Red Star’s women’s soccer club and he’s the founder of Chicago-based Blessed Communion, a firm that makes communion cups.

The condo’s primary bedroom suite has a walk-through closet, a walk-in closet and a primary bathroom with dual sinks, a walk-in glass shower with dual shower heads, a bench and a large water closet.Idonije’s listing agent, Joel Holland, previously declined to comment on why Idonije was selling the condo or where his client was headed. He did not respond to a request for comment on the June 16 sale.The condo had a $6,603 property tax bill in the 2021 tax year.
