Tornado watch issued for counties northeast of Houston
A tornado watch issued by the National Weather Service for southeast Texas and Louisiana on Saturday.The National Weather Service Sunday afternoon issued a tornado watch for parts of southeast Texas through at least 7 p.m.
Hail as large as the size of a tennis ball is likely and there is a possibility a few strong tornadoes could develop amid wind gusts as strong as 70 miles per hour, . The area under the tornado watch includes cities northeast of Houston, such as Dayton and Beaumont, but does not include Houston.Houston and surrounding cities can expect scattered thunderstorms and rain, but the rainfall should amount to less than a tenth of an inch, according to the weather service.
