Although the Thunderbird and the Corvette were initially competitors, the former quickly became a more luxurious grand tourer. If true, and do take that with a grain of salt, Ford would be repeating history and won’t exactly make its new car compete againstFord Trademarks Its Classic Thunderbird Name – Is It For A Future EV?That leaves a lot of unknowns for the future, such as what will propel the vehicle, how it will compare to, and how many seats it will have.
The report follows the previous discovery of a trademark application for the “Thunderbird” name filed by Ford in January 2021. In, meanwhile, Ford’s global brand director for battery electric vehicles, Jason Castriota, said that the company would be open to mining its past to bring back erstwhile nameplates.
That, of course, may lead some to wonder if the Thunderbird will be an EV. The name, after all, already references lightning,
