Phil Murphy is on the verge of filling the most important job in his cabinet, the attorney general, whose sweeping powers include oversight of all police and prosecutors as well as handling civil cases for the state government, on everything from environmental protection to consumer rights.
Murphy is considering giving the job to Matt Platkin, a loyalist who served as his chief counsel for three years with a mixed record.
