FL congressman defends rejections of math books with 'subjective material' for 'captive' students: 'They don't get to leave'

Rep. Byron Donalds, R-Fla., right, questioned a witness Thursday, May 19, 2022, at a House hearing on curriculum in schools, James Whitfield, a former principal in Texas. Suzanne Nossel, CEO of PEN America, earlier in the hearing spoke against censorship of books and ideas including Florida’s parental rights bill, but she agreed with Donalds that the graph in question was concerning.
