On Friday, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement cancelled an Amber Alert after a 9-year-old boy with autism was found dead.
According to the Miami-Dade Police Department, Ripley and his mother, identified as Patricia Ripley, were driving westbound on SW 88 Street when they noticed a vehicle following them.
According to the department's press release, after Ripley's car veered onto the side street, near a Home Depot, the other car blocked the mother and son in, and a male passenger ambushed the car demanding drugs.
