The flooding situation in Cache Creek has worsened, with a total of five properties now under evacuation orders, water flowing through the village fire department building and detours in place as Highway 97 at Highway 1 is underwater and closed to traffic.
On May 2, the BC River Forecast Centre updated its high stream flow advisory to a flood warning for the Bonaparte River and surrounding areas. Officials are urging everyone to stay away from the fast-flowing waterways and unstable river and creek banks.
