Heavy rainfall led the National Weather Service to a flood advisory for Anchorage Bowl until 4 p.m. on Sunday.

Periods of moderate to heavy rain brought about 0.5 inches of rain since midnight, the weather service said. Twice as much precipitation is possible until the rain mainly tapers off in the afternoon, meteorologist Adisen Fenrich said. The precipitation will cause creeks and streams in the Anchorage Bowl to rise, while smaller creeks and streams may reach their banks, according to the advisory. Two main areas where minor flooding is possible are the Campbell Creek Trail and the Chester Creek Trail, Fenrich said.
While the rest of Sunday is forecasted to be mostly cloudy, periods of rain are expected to come and go throughout the rest of the week, Fenrich said.
