This particular RX-7 featured on an episode from That Racing Channel is one of them.is a 1993 model and was purchased by the current owner roughly five years ago. Found under the engine bay is a three-rotor setup complemented by a massive 75 mm Borg Warner turbocharger.
Fitting the new three-rotor engine took quite a lot of time and while getting a shop to do the swap could cost $30,000 to $40,000, the owner did all the work himself. We’ve seen crazier RX-7s in the past,churning out 600 hp and revving through to 11,000 rpm, but this example is well-suited to daily driving.
Of course, that’s not to say that the car isn’t fast; on the contrary, it picks up speed at a ferocious rate and quickly spins up its rear tires while struggling for traction.
