THUNDER BAY — Flair Airlines is making a significant change to its service between Thunder Bay and Toronto.
The low-fare carrier has confirmed to TBnewswatch that the last flight between the two cities this year will be on Oct. 27. After that, a spokesperson said in an email Wednesday, "the service from Thunder Bay will be seasonal, and will return next year for the summer season." No reasons for the change were provided, but last month Flair announced it was implementing 13 new winter routes between various Canadian cities and vacation destinations including Cancun, Las Vegas, Orlando.Among the major airlines, the city continues to be served by Air Canada, Porter Airlines and WestJet, although WestJet's new focus on Western Canada resulted in the airline discontinuing direct flights to Toronto last spring.
