The provincial revenue-sharing model distributes the equivalent of 0.75 per cent of one point on the provincial sales tax. This year’s budget projects PST revenue of $2.7 billion, up by about $276 million, or just over 11 per cent, compared to last year’s budget. While cities will doubtless be thankful for the added revenue-sharing money, they are likely to remain irked at how much of it they give back in taxes.
