When they heard of the park’s closure, they decided to switch to Lake Fork. When they heard about the reopening, they decided to make the more than two hour trek from the East Texas lake each day to cast their lines in Fairfield one last time.“When I fished here in the summer I said, ‘Cody, we’re coming to this lake,’ but right before , they closed it,” Budenbender said. “I was devastated that he didn’t get to experience it, and so when they reopened it we were so excited.
