CLEVELAND — In Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court, there’s one judge who’s been serving the public for years and is the first Egyptian-American to do it.
“It’s somebody that you should be glad to be in front of, be honest with that judge, if you're honest with that judge, that judge will be honest with you,” said Judge William T. McGinty, a Cuyahoga County Common Pleas judge.“To get elected by the people of Cuyahoga County, it's a huge sense of pride. I don't like to focus on being the first; I like to say that I’m the first of hopefully many,” said Miday.
Then, in 2014, she ran for judge, gathering support not just from the Egyptian-American community but also from the Arab-Americans in Cuyahoga County. That year, she lost.
