An apartment building caught fire Dec. 20, 2022, in Ephrata, Lancaster County. A firefighter and police officer helped get a Lancaster County man to safety when his apartment building caught fire Tuesday evening, police said.
Ephrata police said the first arriving officer and a firefighter helped a man rescue his male roommate after their first-floor apartment filled with smoke around 7:22 p.m. on the 300 block of West Main Street.Firefighters were able to contain the fire to the room of origin. The home sustained about $10,000 in damages, police said.
Ephrata police and the Pennsylvania State Police fire marshal are investigating the cause of the fire.
