According to a fire official, there is a mysterious fire burning in an abandoned building in downtown Salt Lake City that crews cannot go into because there are “too many unknowns.'
Firefighters with the Salt Lake City Fire Department battle a fire in an abandoned building on 300 South.A mysterious fire is burning in an abandoned building on 300 South in downtown Salt Lake City, and fire crews are unable to put it out because they can’t go inside, a fire official said Tuesday morning.
The building is the old Oriental Furniture store on the south side of 300 South, across the street from a Japanese restaurant, and it extends to Exchange Place. Covered with colorful graffiti, the building has been boarded up for as long as Stowe can remember, he said.
