Filson was founded in 1897 in Seattle, originally aimed to outfit those headed for the Yukon, a Canadian territory, during the Klondike Gold Rush. Popular among explorers and outdoor enthusiasts, Filson’s products are known for theirNeil Morgan, vice president of Retail at Filson, expressed excitement about the brand’s new presence in Los Angeles.
“It’s taking the Pacific Northwest into LA,” he said. “We’re very proud of our home and our heritage and where we started this brand, and why we started the brand here in Seattle.”“I think L.A. is a very diverse community,” he said. “You have people in tech and art and entertainment and hospitality, so I think it’s really opening us up to a wide variety of customers.”with high-profile stars including country singer Chris Stapleton.
