The Florida Department of Transportation is shutting down State Road 16 west of US-1 beginning on Saturday.

Around 5:30 p.m., a sedan the 61-year-old woman was driving was heading north on I-295, south of Old St. Augustine Road on the inside lane of traffic, while a second sedan was driving directly in front of the vehicle, an FHP crash report states. After crashing, the sedan driven by the 61-year-old woman merged into the center lane of traffic. At the same time, a third sedan traveling behind the woman's vehicle during the crash also merged into the center lane.
