Unlike Felicity Huffman, Lori Loughlin is not nearly as close to the redemption part of this ordeal
If she lost the narrative thread a bit with her commuted sentence , then this is an obvious way to pick it back up again. Her sentence was short but meaningful, it suggests. She saw real suffering, it implies. She wants to help, it yells!! And with a total of 250 hours of community service due anyway, here’s her chance to work what she knows.
Meanwhile, back at the farm, Loughlin, Huffman’s foil by virtue of their fame, is not nearly as close to the redemption part of this ordeal. The judgeon their third—and probably final—charge, so their arraignment originally scheduled for Wednesday was canceled. If convicted, the couple could be staring down a significantly longer stay in federal prison than Huffman, as one legal analyst recently toldsuggests they paid much more ; and they’ve pleaded not guilty.
One parent who also took the tack that Loughlin and Giannulli stand accused of taking—that is, having their children pose as athletes for sports they hardly played, or never played, in order to get them into a university via its compromised athletic department—received a six-month sentence. And that parent pleaded guilty like Huffman.
