A panel of three federal judges have denied a long-shot request to order Ohio elections officials to not recognize the congressional candidates who win in the state’s May primary election.

The judges, who are overseeing an ongoing redistricting lawsuit involving Ohio’s new state legislative map, said in written ruling Tuesday morning they don’t plan to use the case to also incorporate challenges to the state’s new congressional map.
