Federal and state officials are renewing their efforts to find the suspect or suspects responsible for murdering an Indigenous man in Montezuma County back in 2004.
Avery Whiteskunk was reported missing on January 31, 2004. He was found dead nearly two months later, on March 19, on the northern edge of the Ute Mountain Ute Indian Reservation, near County Road G in Montezuma County, according to a FBI bulletin released Monday.The FBI is now offering a $10,000 reward for any information leading to the arrest and conviction of the individual or individuals responsible for his murder.
