SAN FRANCISCO -- The Powell Street BART station entrance was closed Thursday night after a person was fatally shot there, San Francisco police confirmed.
Officers arrived at Hallidie Plaza at Powell and Market streets around 8:40 p.m. and found a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was taken to a local hospital where he died.Entrance Closure Alert: The Powell Street Cable Car Union Square entrance at Powell Street Station will be closed due to police activity.
