Elsa Pataky, the actor behind Elena Neves in the FastAndFurious franchise, opens up about the stunt she desperately wanted to bring into the movies.
The Fast & Furious franchise's Elena actor, Elsa Pataky, reveals the stunt she always wanted to do, but never got to perform in the movies. Pataky first joined the Fast & Furious franchise in 2011's Fast Five as Elena Neves, an officer in Rio de Janeiro's military police. At first, she is part of the team working to arrest Dominic Toretto and Brian O'Conner , but she eventually joins Dom and his team, even becoming a romantic interest for him.
Pataky reprised the role of Elena in the sixth, seventh, and eighth films of the Fast & Furious franchise. Her character's relationship with Dom ends when it is discovered that his previously thought-to-be-dead girlfriend, Letty Ortiz , is actually still alive. Dom reunites with Letty while Elena joins the Diplomatic Security Service, where she works with Luke Hobbs .
"I was always trying to get them to just give me a motorcycle, and have fun with it, but I couldn't convince them." Pataky's expertise and passion in the field of motorcycles extends pretty far back, even before her marriage to Thor star Chris Hemsworth. Her experiences with motorcycling have been well-documented online, including through her own blog that detailed a trip through parts of India on a chrome motorcycle. In a sense, one could say Pataky is more accustomed to high-speed rides than Elena was in her various Fast & Furious outings.
With so much skill and passion for motorcycles behind her, it is odd that Pataky never got to showcase it in the action-packed Fast & Furious movies. It would've added an extra edge to Elena's character while also changing up the action scenes a bit. Granted, the overall focus of the Fast & Furious films is on cars, but motorcycles are not a far leap from that. In fact, Gal Gadot's character Gisele Yashar is known to ride motorcycles from time to time.
