More than a decade after it closed, Trussville residents still have fond memories of Dick Tamburro’s Italian restaurant off Glenn Avenue.
Tamburro’s Italian Home will be located at 5951 Chalkville Mountain Rd. in the Trussville Shopping Center. Tamburro’s, also known as Tamburro’s & Sons, or Tamburro’s Bella Notte, was located in a porchlined, white house. Diners sampled dishes in small but uncramped dining rooms, with green and white tile floors and wine-colored walls. Dick Tamburro might stroll past the table, playing a Dean Martin standard on the accordion.
