Parents Gareth and Aileen are now hoping they can offer Logan a life-changing bionic arm by fundraising to pay for a hero arm from Open Bionics based in Bristol.

The parents of a young boy born without a hand have told of his struggles as they raise cash to buy a state of the art bionic arm to improve his life.

Parents Gareth and Aileen told the Record how hard it is to watch their son struggle with everyday tasks. Cyber security worker Gareth, 41, said: "When he becomes frustrated, he gets upset and says he hates his 'wee hand'. He sees his friends doing things and asks why he can't do those things. While Logan is resilient and does not let his limb difference hold him back, even everyday tasks like buckling his seatbelt can be a problem.

While artificial limbs are available on the NHS, they are not as innovative as those offered by private companies so it would only serve a cosmetic purpose and would not change Logan's life or abilities.
