A Brighton High School student is recovering from severe injuries after narrowly avoiding a head-on collision with an SUV driving on the wrong side of the road.
Nickolas Jensen, 14, swerved just in time but crashed into a parked car, leaving him with a fractured kneecap, broken nose, loose teeth and a lacerated chin. Authorities said the vehicle did not stop, and the driver has not been identified.
"The thing about Nick, he's an amazing skateboarder," said Erik Jensen, Nickolas' father. "But it might be a few weeks before he's back to his passion.""He came to the door dripping blood from his chin; his chin was chewed up from the glass. It's a nightmare," Erik Jensen said. "It's hard to take responsibility if you didn't know; then at the very least, now you know, and yeah, we'd love to have you come forward," said Erik.
