Last year, the volunteer group behind the project secured $102,221 through ACOA’s Canada Community Revitalization Fund , as well as donations from a few businesses and organizations. Community groups are starting to come on board with helping see the project through to fruition. The Windsor Rotary Club is the latest organization to donate money, with $2,000 being presented Feb. 28 and another $2,000 donation planned for the summer.
The Windsor and District Lions Club is hosting a pancake breakfast March 11, with proceeds raised going towards the park. There’s an everlasting bottle drive taking place. Dunfield said if people have any empty cans they’d like to donate, they can drop them off at 189 Town Rd. in Falmouth, or take them to O’Leary’s Bottle Exchange in Garlands Crossing and request the funds go to the Falmouth Family Park’s account.
