Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT The upcoming Fallout series is set to land on Prime Video earlier than expected. Following the huge success of the video game franchise of the same name, Amazon purchased the rights to adapt the game into a post-apocalyptic drama series that would be spearheaded by the duo of Lisa Joy and Jonathan Nolan. After years of production, it was initially announced that the show would arrive on Prime Video on April 11, 2024.
Amazon Studios has revealed that the release date for the Fallout series is now set for April 10, 2024. While the change isn’t hugely significant as it's only a day apart from the initial release date that was set, fans of this franchise would be able to watch this highly anticipated show earlier than they expected.
The Release Date Change Is Not The Only Change Fans Of The Fallout Franchise Can Expect From This Adaptation Historically, adaptation of video game franchises into shows has always been hit or miss. In the past, video games like The Last of Us, Halo and Riot Games’ Arcane have been adapted into successful shows which have received mostly positive reviews, while other adaptations of games like Resident Evil have fallen flat.
In bringing the post-apocalyptic world of Bethesda's iconic RPG series to life, the Fallout showrunners have decided to make some important changes to the forthcoming show. For instance, one of the showrunners recently revealed in an interview that they’re taking the game's 25 years of lore to build their own tale and the series would take place after the events of the game.
Related Fallout's Release Is A Reminder To Watch Ella Purnell's Post-Apocalyptic Movie From 2021 Ella Purnell is the star of the Amazon show Fallout, based on the video game series of the same name, and she previously appeared in a similar film. Since the Fallout series is set in a different time from that of the video game, a lot of the events that are expected to take place during this period remain largely unknown, as the franchise never touched this time period.
