A 37-year-old Oakland man awaits arraignment in Solano County Superior Court after his arrest Thursday on suspicion of armed robbery and sexual assault earlier in the day in Fairfield.
In a social media post, Fairfield police said they arrested Dewayne Allen Wright, a felon on parole, on suspicion of the crimes that occurred at 7 a.m. in the 1800 block of West Texas Street. Wright, who has a history of violent offenses, was booked into Solano County Jail on several charges, including forced oral copulation, armed robbery, kidnapping, being a felon in possession of a firearm, possession of an illegal firearm, and violation of parole, all felonies.
He also had three outstanding felony warrants, one out of San Francisco for assault, one out of Oakland for robbery, and one for violation of parole out of the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation. Wright was arrested without incident after officers were alerted to his vehicle’s location through an automated license plate reader system. Officers saw the car, a Porsche SUV, and stopped it just after 2 p.m. at the eastbound Interstate 80 truck scales in Cordelia.Related Articles
