The Fairbanks School District met on Wednesday, March 23 for a second night of budget talks, culminating in a narrow approval of the board’s 2022-2023 budget proposal to the district.
The special meeting followed the previous night’s regular meeting, which ended without a final answer.
The board voted unanimously to cut $67,500 from the district’s legal budget, as well as $15,000 from the board’s travel budget.In addition, the board authorized $118,000 in music education funding to be moved from the district’s CARES Act funding into the general fund. Finally, the board voted 4 to 3 to pass it’s 2022-2023 budget proposal, which encompasses more than $238 million.Copyright 2022 KTVF. All rights reserved.
