Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT The Expendables 4 is projected to turn out a dismal opening weekend gross. The movie, which opened in theaters on September 22, is the fourth installment in the Expendables action franchise, which began with the Sylvester Stallone directed, co-written, and starring The Expendables in 2010.
Per Deadline, the Expendables 4 box office is projected to have the worst opening weekend of the franchise by far. Although it was projected to earn somewhere between $15 and $17 million, it is barely making half of that range with an estimated total around $8 million. It is currently jockeying for first place at the domestic box office with the horror holdover The Nun II, which is in its third weekend.
