Threats of a mass shooting from a former philosophy fellow ranting on YouTube and in a manifesto led UCLA administrators to shift all classes to remote learning on Tuesday, Feb. 1, with the 31-year-old man arrested by late morning following a standoff in Colorado, authorities said.
The standoff occurred after police in Los Angeles tracked Harris to Colorado following his sending of the manifesto and links to YouTube to the UCLA department where he used to serve as a post-doctoral fellow, authorities said.Boulder police are outside the apartment building at 955 Broadway in that Colorado city where Matthew Harris is barricaded on Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2022.
