The Edmonton Oilers called Lavoie up from the American Hockey League on Friday after he started the season on a tear. The 23-year-old winger had four goals and seven points in his first five AHL games with the Bakersfield Condors. This is Lavoie's fourth professional season. He set personal highs in goals , assists and points last season with the Condors and nearly made the Oilers out of training camp this fall.

The Oilers picked the six-foot-four, 216-pound winger in the second round in the 2019 NHL draft. He spent three-and-a-half seasons with the Mooseheads. His best QMJHL season was 2019-20 when he scored 38 goals and added 44 assists in 55 games with the Mooseheads and Chicoutimi Sagueneens. “The goal isn’t to get to the MHL as quick as possible. It is to stay in the NHL as long as possible.” - Raphael Lavoie
