The final trailer for Lee Cronin's gory Evil Dead Rise touts the movie's impressive reviews, and shows the Book of the Dead taking its first victim.
The final Evil Dead Rise trailer shows the Book of the Dead taking its first victim. Sam Raimi started it all with his original low-budget 1981 fright-fest The Evil Dead, then expanded the franchise with 1987's Evil Dead II and 1992's Army of Darkness. In 2013, a new generation took over with Fede Álvarez's Evil Dead reboot, and now in 2023 audiences are getting another new take on Raimi’s horror universe thanks to Lee Cronin’s gory and formula-tweaking Evil Dead Rise.
Indeed, it would be an understatement to call the new clip blood-soaked, as it shows the Necronomicon being discovered, and teases Alyssa Sutherland’s Ellie being transformed into a ghoulish Deadite. As the trailer’s goriness mounts, a literal flood of blood is unleashed, in an image that pays homage to Stanley Kubrick’s The Shining.
