Adoptions have slowed and fewer people have been showing interest in bringing home a new pet, said Anna-Lee Fitzsimmons, associate director of community engagement with the Calgary Humane Society. “But with every kennel full, it limits our ability to take animals in off our wait list that need our help or be best prepared to help in any kind of emergency.”“We are having a really hard time finding adopters to help get these animals into homes so that we can, in turn, open our doors to more animals,” said Fitzsimmons.THIS CONTENT IS RESERVED FOR SUBSCRIBERS ONLYUnlimited online access to articles from across Canada with one account.
