Nightsisters are one of the franchise’s many Force-using traditions other than Jedi and Sith, and while they may not be as powerful as their more iconic counterparts, Nightsisters are nevertheless astoundingly skilled with the Force.
14 Transformation While Dathomir and its Witch clans debuted in 1994’s Courtship of Princess Leia, the first live-action Nightsister appeared in 1985’s Ewoks: The Battle for Endor, thanks to a retcon. The Nightsister Charal’s signature power is transforming into a raven, though her ability requires a dark side-imbued artifact: one of the Talismans of Transformation.
10 Reanimate Corpses A particularly nightmarish Nightsister power is the ability to reanimate corpses, which appears in both the canon and Legends continuities. In Legends, Charal uses this horrific ability in Zack Giallongo’s Star Wars: Ewoks—Shadows of Endor, while Old Daka uses it to raise an army of undead Nightsisters in canon’s The Clone Wars. The power is shown once again in the canon continuity’s Jedi: Fallen Order, with Merrin similarly creating an army of zombie Nightsisters.
5 Possession Although possession is a power exclusive to the Sith in the Legends timeline, the canon timeline depicts it as only being used by Nightsisters. In her conflict with the Sith and the Separatist Alliance, Mother Talzin briefly possessed Count Dooku and battled Palpatine with his body, though she lacked Dooku’s skill and thus was easily defeated. The spirits of two Nightsisters would later possess the bodies of Sabine Wren and Kanan Jarrus in Rebels.
