Update: Evacuation order for Northcreek fire burning near Beulah is lifted
An evacuation order for the Northcreek fire burning near Beulah was lifted late in the day Saturday and investigators said the origin of the fire is human caused.
The fire, which started along the 3600 block of Northcreek Road, has burned about 43 acres and there was 10% containment as of 5:50 p.m., according to fire officials. A preliminary investigation into the fire’s origin indicates it was human caused, the Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office said. A person of interest has been identified and federal investigators are aiding local authorities as the fire is burning on U.S. Forest Service land.
